2021 Dance Education Training Course
The Dance Education Training Course is an intensive 2 year program preparing dancers to become dance teachers, through the prestigious Dance Teachers Club of Boston. Serious, dedicated dance students incorporate training and study skills to teaching beginner through advanced dance students, across many dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, children's workshop, musical theater, contemporary, improvisation, stretch, and ballroom.

7 CDDS Senior Company Dancers attended, and 4 were awarded scholarships!
  • Brianne Mitchell was presented with The Paulette Harwood Tap Award, awarded to the Year 1 student with the highest written and performance scores in tap. 
  • Liliana Bastia was presented with The Al & Sherry Gold Award, awarded to the Year 1 student with the highest written and performance scores in ballet, tap, and jazz. 
  • Sophie Smyth was presented with The Kathy Coughlin Tap Award, awarded to the Year 2 student with the highest written and performance scores in tap. 
  • Sophia Mayo was presented with The Lilla Frances Viles Award, awarded to the Year 2 student with the highest written and performance scores in ballet, tap, and jazz for both years in the program.

Haley Blair, Kaleigh Hall, Alivia Slinn completed their first year of the program.

Sophie Smyth and Sophia Mayo both graduated from the program, completing the two year course.
We are so proud of ALL of the dancers!
Our Company Dancers compete every other year to give them exposure to the world of competition and another performance opportunity.

On Stage America Competition 2017

Some outstanding highlights from our weekend at On Stage America Competition!

This was the 1st competition for our Pee Wee dancers (I Can Be Anything/Friend Like Me). We are SO PROUD of all our dancers for their hard work, passion and dedication to their team of dance sisters!

*The Heart Asks Pleasure First/Julia Solo - Senior Title Finalists, 3rd Overall Advanced Senior Solo (out of 71), Diamond 💎

*Jet Set - 1st Overall Advanced Junior Large Group, Diamond 💎, and Overall Entertainment Award

*Women's Work- placed 2nd Overall Advanced Senior Duo/Trio, Diamond 💎, Special Award "WOW" for strength, dynamics, choreography, dancers execution and technique, lifts, amazing total trust between dancers, power of dancing and commitment of dancers to do the wonderful choreography

*42nd Street- Diamond  💎 , Advanced Teen Line, Special Award "ToeTapping Terrific"!

*The Climb- 1st Overall Advanced Junior Small Group, Hi-Platinum, Special Award "Classically Clean" for classic lyrical choreography and technically clean dance

  • Senior Company Members Julia French and Keeley Kirejczyk attended a Community Master Class with Ruth Andrien of the Taylor 2 dance company Ashamu Dance Studio at Brown University on November 14. Taylor 2 is part of the renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company.
