Pre-School & Primary Hints
Here are some guidelines to help your dancer get the most out of their Pre-School/Primary Class.

Teachers will bring students into class.
If you are late to class, please check in at the office and a staff member will bring your dancer in.

Be prepared for class:
  • Dancers must be potty trained.
  • Dancers need the required dance attire:
  • Girls:  short sleeve light blue leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes
  • Boys:  white tshirt, black pants, black ballet shoes, black tap shoes.
  • No tutus or skirts please.
  • Recommended Retailers are Competitor’s Closet and LaBrie Dance.
  • Put your dancer's name in their shoes AND on their Dance Bag.
  • Pull your dancer's hair away from their face and off their neck.
  • Buns, ponytails or braids are encouraged.
  • Bring your dancer to the bathroom before class.
  • Arrive to the studio at least 5 minutes before class starts so that your dancer can get acclimated and put shoes on.
  • Put your dancer’s ballet shoes on before they enter class.

Not allowed in class:
  • Parents (To encourage independence, parents should not enter the studio, that means the little dancer should enter class on their own!)
  • Snacks or Drinks (Class time goes by very quickly!)
  • Sweatshirts, leg warmers or any additional clothing (We keep the temperature appropriate to the season.)
  • Ballet skirt or tutus (While we love a fun tutu and graceful ballet skirt, these items can be extremely distracting to our little dancers.  Skirts attached to leotards are also not allowed.)
  • Toys or dolls
  • Gum
  • Extra jewelry
