Preschool & Primary Class
 
Important things to know for your first class:
  • Put your dancer’s name in their shoes and dance bag before you arrive at the studio.  As we train independent dancers in class to change their ballet shoes to tap shoes, they can somtimes mixup with their friend's!
  • Bring your dancer to the bathroom before class.
  • Teachers will bring students into class.  Parents are not allowed into the dance space as we are encouraging independence in our little dancers!
  • Water bottles should not enter the dance room.
Here are some other guidelines to help you get the most out of your Preschool or Primary Class:

Be prepared for class:
  • Dancers must be potty trained. Pull-ups not allowed.
  • Required dress code. See website for specifics. Girls: short sleeve light blue leotard, pink convertible tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes. Boys: white tshirt, black pants, black ballet shoes, black tap shoes.  
  • Hair pulled back away from face. (Buns, ponytails, braids encouraged)
  • Recommended Retailers are Competitor’s Closet and LaBrie Dance. 
  • No tutus or skirts.
  • Put your dancer's name in their shoes AND on their Dance Bag.
  • Bring your dancer to the bathroom before class.
  • Arrive to the studio at least 5 minutes before class starts to put ballet shoes on and get settled in!
Not allowed in class:
  • Parents (To encourage independence, parents should not enter the studio. Little dancer should enter class on their own!)
  • Snacks or drinks (Class time goes by very quickly!)
  • Sweatshirts, leg warmers or any additional clothing
  • Ballet skirt or tutus.
  • Skirts attached to leotards also not allowed.
  • Toys or dolls
  • Gum
  • Jewelry (Small stud earrings are allowed.)
If you are late to class, please check in at the office and a staff member will bring your dancer in.
