Smithfield All Lit Up Parade

Pee Wee, Rhythmette, Junior and Senior Company dancers will march and dance in the Smithfield All Lit Up Parade! A fun routine will be taught in classes.

Parade starts at 4pm from Smithfield High School ending at lighting of the tree in the town green across from Smithfield Fire Department headquarters.

Arrival/Pickup Details:
  • All CDDS parade participants should meet at 3:45pm at Gallager Middle School 10 Indian Run Trail, Smithfield, RI 02917
    • Dance Captains meet 3:30pm
  • Parade length is approximately 1.5 miles. We don't know how long it will take us to march- see you at the end!
  • Parents please pick up your dancer immediately following the parade in back parking lot of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. (See picture below)
  • Students driving themselves must arrange a ride back to their car from the end of the parade.
  • For safety reasons, parents must email us by 12/1 if their dancer is driving themselves or with another student and not being picked up by an adult.

Note:
  • We will contact you via email and text if we must cancel due to inclement weather.
  • Check texts for arrival/pickup updates
  • Text Google Line if you need to reach CDDS staff day of parade: 401-288-1232 (only in use this day)
  • If you have epi pen or inhaler, but in ziplock labeled with your name and give to staff to keep in truck
  • Do not bring anything else with you.

Pee Wee's What to Wear:
  • DRESS WARM!
  • A Santa hat! (can be light up)
  • Silver bell DFA costume (over the below) - Will be given to you in advance.
  • Black leggings. Wear tights and layers under for warmth.
  • CDDS warmup jacket over warm layers (ie. long sleeve black leotard, camisole, black turtleneck, thermal shirt, etc.)
    • Optional (Keep in mind your costume has to fit over): Black winter jacket or vest over warmup jacket. Ex. North Face fleece, fleece or puffy vest, nothing too bulky or past waist. 
      • If you're warm enough with layers under your warmup jacket that is fine. We are not saying to buy a new winter jacket for this event. We want you to be warm while looking uniform! It is nighttime and very cold.
  • Winter Accessories (minimal logos/designs please): 
    • Red gloves, red scarf (short just around neck, not long past waist)
    • Red calf-high socks and/or legwarmers (solid black, not decorated).
    • Optional: Red or white ear warmer headband can be worn under the Santa hat for extra warmth.
  • Black sneakers. (don't have to be 100% solid black but minimal other colors please.)
  • LIGHT UP! This is a big one - - wear glow sticks, wrap yourself in lights, glowing gloves, necklace, santa hat, shoe lates, etc! (If you have questions on your glow items email them in advance.)

Rhythmette/Junior/Seniors What to Wear:
  • DRESS WARM!

Makeup/Hair/Earrings:
  • Full performance eye makeup (false eyelashes) 
  • Add glitter and shine so your faces stand out at night!
  • Low bun, center part. 
  • Rhinestone earrings.
    • Closed Class, Preparatory, Pee Wee Company: 10mm double ring rhinestone earrings
    • Rhythmette, Junior, Senior: 12mm double ring rhinestone earrings
      • Company dancers need these for all CDDS performances.
      • The earring is 1 row of rhinestones around the stone but the name of the earring is "Double Ring"
      • Vendors may vary (ie. the earrings may appear on a different card than in photo)
      • The earring size is based on the inside stone.
      • Earrings come as pierced or clip on
      • It's always good to have a backup pair :)
