Dress Code
Following the Dress Code shows respect, maturity and dedication. Dance attire should always be in good condition and clean.
Hair:

Period Accommodations: If a dancer is on her period, she may wear skin-tone underwear and/or a skin-tone camisole under her leotard, or fitted black athletic shorts with a 2–3" inseam. Dancers do not need to ask permission.

Expectations:
- All dancers are being evaluated for placement and specialty choreography at all times.
- Doors open 15 minutes before class and close 15 minutes after class. Arrive promptly, get ready, and enter the dance room. Do not be late.
- Company Mondays: Be at the ballet barre and ready to begin at the start of class.
- Intensive: Be ready to begin at the start of your first class.
- Use the restroom before or between classes, not during class, unless it is an emergency.
- Work hard, stay focused and engaged, and ask thoughtful questions.
- No talking with other students during class.
- Bring a water bottle with an attached lid. Only take water breaks when the teacher designates a break.
- No phones during the Intensive. Leave them in your bag—this is a time to be present, unplug, and enjoy being with your teammates.
- Hydrate and eat a healthy meal before arriving.
- Breaks between classes are for using the restroom, getting water, changing shoes/clothes, and returning promptly to the dance room. They are not for checking cell phones.
- Always be respectful, kind, and supportive to your teachers and peers.
- Be the best dancer you can be. Work hard, stay focused, listen while teachers are speaking or while waiting your turn, and have fun!
Drop Off/Pick Up:
- Parking is limited, please be patient and leave immediately after dropping off/picking up your dancer.
- Doors open 15 minutes before class & close 15 minutes after class to help with parking lot flow.
- Students should enter the Studio independently.
- Warwick - Please be mindful that students are exiting into the parking lot at night. If not in a Studio parking spot, please meet your dancer at the back door under the red awning for pick up. No parking or idling in the Dive Shop or Gas Station. There is a lot on the corner of Warwick Ave/Community Drive across from the Dive Shop that you can park in for a few minutes.
- Students driving themselves should park at the corner lot on Warwick Ave/Community Drive
Dress Code

Hair:
- Ballet: Hair in a neat, secure bun.
- All other classes (unless noted below): Hair securely pulled back and out of the face in a ponytail, braids, or bun that stays neat throughout classes.
- Natural hair textures and protective styles (including braids, twists, locs, and box braids) are welcome and do not need to be straightened. If possible, they should be secured into a bun for Ballet. No beads unless secured in a bun. No beads for performances.
Not Permitted
- Jewelry other than small stud earrings
- Outdoor shoes on the dance floor
- Gum
- Non–nut allergy-friendly food
- Colored beverages
- Just a bra top or t shirt
- Pants below the ankle bone

What to Bring Each Day in Dance Bag:
- Water bottle with an attached lid (no Stanley-style or other straw cups). Water only. No colored beverages.
- Healthy, mess-free lunch/dinner (nut allergy friendly)
- All dance shoes (clean and in good condition; no holes)
- Small personal first aid kit with parent approved medication (Do not share medication with others)
- Extra pair of leotard and tights
- Yoga blocks
- Label all belongings with the dancer's name.
Class Breaks:
- Breaks between classes are for changing shoes/clothes, using the restroom, and getting a drink of water. As soon as you are ready, return to the dance room. Classes may begin early if everyone is ready!
- If you are not comfortable changing in front of others, simply put black leggings on over your Ballet attire before leaving the dance room. Changing is not permitted in the restrooms, as they must remain available for restroom use.
- A meal break is provided each day, so eating should not be necessary during breaks between classes.
PROGRAM A Dance Attire
Ballet:
- Any black leotard
- Pink convertible tights
- Hair in a neat, secure bun
- Ballet shoes (and pointe shoes, if applicable)
- Any color leotard or fitted athletic top (crop tops must reach the mid-waist; sports bras or T-shirts alone are not permitted)
- Any color high-waisted leggings (bootcut or flare leggings must be hemmed to the ankle bone for safety)
- Tan convertible tights may be worn with just a leotard and optional if wearing leggings. If keeping pink ballet tights on, black leggings must be worn over them.
- Hair securely pulled back out of the face.
- Hair half-up/half-down (recommended for dancers preparing for college dance teams) or pulled back in a ponytail or braids
- Jazz shoes
- Comfortable, cool clothing
- Sneakers worn only indoors (clean the bottoms before class to help protect the dance floor)
- Loose T-shirts are permitted (crop tops must reach the mid-waist; sports bras alone are not permitted)
- Shorts must be at least mid-thigh in length
- Jazz shoes (character heels may be brought if you have them)
- Jazz shoes
- Contemporary shoes or barefoot
- Bring your own yoga mat

- Put on black leggings for Contemporary and Salsa
- Ballet Shoes, Contemporary (or Ballet) shoes, Jazz shoes for Salsa
