CDDS Annual Recital Costume Information:
  • Miss Carolyn approves costumes for each class.
  • Studio does not provide (and prices do not include) shoes, tights, camisole or additional accessories (ie. gloves, socks, wigs etc.).
  • Dancers are measured in class by Studio staff.  Measurements are submitted and costume sizes are determined by a costume house. Costumes are a general size and not made for each individual dancer.
  • Any alterations needed are the responsibility of the parent. Dianne Stein at Competitor’s Closet in Warwick is a resource to alter costumes for a fee.
  • Costumes are tried on in class once the entire class order arrives and approved by staff  (fit & condition) before taken home.
  • Accounts must be up to date for dancer to receive costume.
  • No Acro in the Recital.
  • Any specialty size costumes are an additional fee - noted below.
  • If your dancer will NOT participate in the Recital, email info@CarolynDutraDanceStudio asap no later than November 15. Otherwise you will be charged for costumes.

Please note: We strive to create a positive environment where our students feel good about themselves and their bodies, and comparisons are discouraged. We recognize being measured and trying on costumes can still be a difficult experience for some students. We do not share measurements with students and we do our best to handle any sizing issues sensitively and discretely.  If there is anything we should know about your dancer before measurements are taken or passing out costumes to best support them, please let us know. We will make appropriate accommodations as necessary.
