Warwick Apponaug Holiday Parade 12/9/23

Pee Wee, Rhythmette, Junior and Senior Company and Level 3/4 dancers will march and dance in the Warwick Apponaug Winter Parade ! A fun routine will be taught in classes. No additional rehearsal. (Demonstrators attend classes, not parade.)

Parade start time and route (see map below): 10am from corner of Veterans Memorial Drive/Pleasant Street (near the Honey Dew Donuts) ending at Warwick City Hall. Less than a mile.
  • There is a Winter Festival until 3pm in and around City Hall.

Arrival/Pickup Details (See map below)
  • Arrival: 8:45am All dancers meet at the Wave Dental parking lot. We will walk to staging area as a group at 8:55am sharp to be set in line by 9am. 
    • Parents drop off dancer and meet us at the end!
    • Use the bathroom before coming.  There are no bathroom stops along the parade route.
    • If you are late, parent walk dancer to staging area and find us in line. (see map)
    • That area of Veteran's Memorial Parkway closes at 9am-approximately 11am.
  • Pickup: Parents pick up dancer immediately following the end of the parade in front of City Hall. 
    • Parade length is a little under 1 mile. We don't know exactly how long it will take us to march- see you at the end!
    • Miss Blair will walk students driving themselves back to the Wave Parking Lot.
      • Parents of students driving themselves must email us by 11/25 with permission to leave on their own. 
    • See map for public parking lots.
    • Staff will stay with dancers until they are all picked up. Call the Google line if you need to reach us.
Note:
  • We will notify via email/text/social media if we must cancel due to inclement weather. Decision will be made no later than December 8th, 6pm
  • Check email/text/social media for arrival/pickup updates
  • Text Google Line if you need to reach CDDS staff day of parade: 401-288-1232 (only in use this day)
  • If you have epi pen or inhaler, but in ziplock labeled with your name and give to staff to keep in the truck.
  • Do not bring anything else with you. If you are driving, keep car keys in you rpocket.

What to Wear:  (The only difference from Smithfield parade is you do not need to light up.)
  • DRESS WARM!
  • A Santa hat
  • Red Winter Accessories (minimal logos/designs please. Can be CDDS logo): 
    • Red gloves, red scarf (short just around neck, not long past waist) *Required
    • Red calf-high socks and/or red legwarmes (solid red, not decorated, wear outside of leggings). *Required
    • Optional: Red or white ear warmer headband can be worn under the Santa hat for extra warmth. 
  • Black leggings. Wear tights and layers under for warmth.
  • Any all black winter outerwear over warm layers  - It's cold!
  • Black sneakers. (don't have to be 100% solid black but minimal other colors please.)

Makeup/Hair/Earrings:
  • Full performance eye makeup (false eyelashes) 
  • Add glitter and shine so your faces stand out!
  • Low bun, center part. 
  • Rhinestone earrings.
    • Pee Wee Company: 10mm double ring rhinestone earrings
    • Level 3/4, Rhythmette, Junior, Senior: 12mm double ring rhinestone earrings

Smithfield All Lit Up Parade 12/2/23

Pee Wee, Rhythmette, Junior and Senior Company and Level 3/4 dancers will march and dance in the Smithfield All Lit Up Parade! A fun routine will be taught in classes. No additional rehearsal.

Parade starts at 4:30pm from Smithfield High School ending at lighting of the tree in the town green across from Smithfield Fire Department headquarters.

Arrival/Pickup Details:
  • Arrival: 3:45pm All dancers meet at the Vincent J. Gallagher Middle School parking lot
    • Parents drop off and staff  walk dancers to the High School as a group. 
    • If you are late and our group left the Middle School, parents park at the Middle School and walk your dancer over the field to the High School parking lot and find us in the line up.
    • Acro 2 dancers, we know you are coming after class. Do not stress. You will make it :)
    • Use the bathroom at the High School as soon as we get there. There are no bathroom stops along the parade route.
  • Pickup: Parents pick up  dancer immediately following the end of the parade, in the back parking lot of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. (See picture below)
    • Parade length is approximately 1.5 miles. We don't know exactly how long it will take us to march- see you at the end!
    • Parents of students driving themselves must email us by 11/25 with permission to leave on their own. 
    • Students driving themselves must arrange a ride back to their car from the end of the parade in advance.
    • Expect parking to be challenging at the end of the parade route. Staff will stay with dancers until they are all picked up. Call the Google line if you need to reach us.
