Gaspee Days Parade

• Arrival 9:30am Planet Fitness Warwick Ave. Stay in car if raining or extremely hot until we call you out
• The end time is approximately 1pm.  The parade route is 2.5 miles and the speed and length varies.

• If a parent is not meeting their dancer at the end of parade please fill out THIS FORM by May 31 (link coming soon)
  • Jr/Sr driving themselves - Arrange carpools and leaving a car at the end to drive others back to planet fitness. Staff will carry car keys  for you. Bring a ziplock bag with your name on it to put key and ID (if driving) in , not a whole wallet.
• Purchase needed items below as needed.

• Red Jock Jams costume

• Tan convertible tights
• Camisole. Wear supportive bra under as needed, not visible.
• Company performance Rhinestone earrings
• Makeup:

  • Required lipstick: MAC-Red, MAC-Russian Red, or Sephora cream liquid lipstick-Always Red 
• Hair: TBD. Use Got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray or Got2B Glued Styling Spiking Hair Gel
  • Apply high spf sunscreen upon arrival - put on hair part!
• NO colored nail polish or jewelry. Band aids skin tone or clear
• Do not bring any personal belongings with you - no cell phones. Staff have water, sunscreen and first aid.

• White skater skirt with attached brief (ordered by CDDS). Please submit $30 payment or primary card on file will be auto-charged April 27. Will be given in class April 29.
• Red short sleeve CDDS T shirt (new version with large front center logo)

Arrival - 9:30am Parking Lot behind Planet Fitness, 1222 Warwick Ave

• Meet behind Planet Fitness at 9:30am stage ready (with warmup jacket, black leggings, clear rain poncho) and staff walk dancers to lineup shortly after. Do not be late! Wait in car if it's raining or extremely hot until we call you out.
• Dancers leave cell phones and all belongings with parents unless driving themselves keep key and license.

• Dancers will be led to the parade lineup as a group with staff shortly after 9:30am. Look for CDDS group.

• Arrange carpooling and leaving some cars at the end of the parade route (side streets around Broad St/Ocean Ave towards Poco Loco area) to drive others back to Planet Fitness lot.

• Apply high spf sunscreen upon arrival. (Don't forget your hair part line!)

• If you are late, parent must walk dancer to our spot in the lineup on Pawtuxet Ave. Section/Street name TBD.

Pickup - End of Parade Route

• Approximately 1pm -Parents pick up dancer promptly at the end of the parade. We gather on the sidewalk just past the end near Broad St/Ocean Ave. 

• Staff will remain with dancers until they are all picked up. Call/text the Google line if needed.
  

Parking

• Parade Ends on Broad Street around Kneeland St just after Crepe Corner.

• We suggest parking cars near end of the parade route (Ocean Ave towards Norwood Ave) in the AM and carpool groups to Plant Fitness lot for an easy exit.

• At the end of the parade, there are shuttles from Rhodes on the Pawtuxet that can take you to Pilgrim High School (a short walk from Planet Fitness lot where you can leave your car). There is no parking at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. Staff are not taking students on the shuttle. Pickup is end of Parade route.

• It is prohibited per the parade committee for anyone besides staff & dancers to follow/join us along the route. We suggest finding a spot near the end of the route so that you can easily pick up your dancer when we finish.
• CDDS Google Line 401-288-1232 (available 1hr before & during event, as network service allows)
• This is a rain or shine event. We will not attend if heavy rain is predicted and the decision will be made by 7pm the night before.
