Cranston Veterans Day Parade

Parade starts at 11:30am at Legion Bowl on Park Ave/Doric Ave, past City Hall up Hayward St and down Rolfe Street, ending at the cannon memorial in front of Park Theater. Approximately 1.5 miles long/1.5hrs.

Military Family Invitation

CDDS is honored to invite our military members and their families to march with us in the Cranston Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday November 11, 2025, 11:30am.

  • Arrive 11am at Doric Field at the corner of Arthur Street and Doric Avenue at 11am.  Look for CDDS group! If you are late, find us in the lineup on Doric Ave.
  • We would love if Military members dressed in uniform. We ask military family members and recreational dancers dress in patriotic themed clothing, CDDS warmup jacket/merch, all black, or as dressed up as you'd like.
  • Recreational/Closed/Prep/PW Company dancers can march with their military family member or with their class. Rhy/Jr/Sr Company dancers are performing so they must stay with their group.
  • Company dancers must follow Company dress attire.
  • Weather Updates: We will email/text and post on social media by 6pm the night before if we must cancel due to inclement weather.

Posters
If you have a Military family member (who is unable to march with us) we would be proud to honor their service by carrying a poster of their photo as we march in the Cranston Veterans Day Parade, November 11th.

  • Dance For Art will cover costs of posters. They cost $15 to print. Donations kindly accepted.

Company Dancers

Arrival
  • Arrive 11am at Doric  Field at the corner of Arthur Street and Doric Avenue.  Look for CDDS group! Staff will walk dancers to lineup spot.
  • If you are late, find us in the lineup on Doric Ave.
  • If you have epi pen or inhaler, but in ziplock labeled with your name and give to staff to keep in truck.  
  • Do not bring any other belongings with you.
  • See below for what to wear.
Pickup
  • Parents pick up dancers immediately following parade (approximately 12:30pm) on lawn of Cranston City Hall.
  • Parents pick up dancer immediately following the parade and we respectfully ask families to stay for the memorial ceremony in front of City Hall with your dancer.
  • If a student is not being dismissed to their own parent or driving themselves/with another student, please email us by 11/8 (Subject: Veterans Parade Pickup). We must know in advance for safety reasons.

What To Wear - Be sure you have correct items at least 3 days before an event!

Closed Class, Preparatory, Pee Wee

  • White gloves
  • CDDS warmup jacket. If you do not have one yet, wear solid black sweatshirt/jacket or borrow from a Rhythmette/Junior/Senior Company dancer.
  • Black leggings (no logos/lettering), socks, sneakers
  • Layer underneath for warmth. (Ex. tights, long sleeve leotard, long sleeve black shirt/turtleneck/fleece jacket/hoodless sweatshirt, etc.)
  • Hair: Low bun, center part, slicked back
  • Stage makeup (eyeshadow, mascara, blush, red lipstick) (Rhythmette/Junior/Seniors false eyelashes.)
  • Rhinestone performance earrings

Rhythmette, Junior and Senior Company dancers performing in costume.
  • DFA costume given to you. No headpiece.
  • Short white gloves. Can be purchased at Competitors Closet or LaBrie. (costume gloves, not winter gloves)
  • Camisole
  • Tan tights

  • Hair: Low bun, center part, slicked back
  • Stage makeup, false eyelashes (eyeshadow, mascara, blush, red lipstick)
