Picture Day

All Recital dancers are invited to attend Picture Day to take a photo in 1 Recital costumes of your choice. Picture days can be busy and we truly appreciate your excitement, patience, positivity, and understanding. We love seeing everyone in costume, the smiles and the adorable photo results!
Donner Photography will take individual photos of dancers at CDDS in their Recital costumes!
Picture day can be really busy and we really appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Parents do not enter the photo room. (Except Toddler & Me adults taking pictures with dancers.) CDDS staff and demonstrators are there to help!
  • One parent attends with dancer.  No additional siblings (if possible) or family members due to limited space. Please do not arrive with anyone else.  Space is limited and it gets busy.
  • Toddler & Me adult takes a picture with your dancer!
  • NO PHOTO TAKING IN THE WAITING ROOM/CHANGING AREAS BECAUSE DANCERS ARE CHANGING.
  • Wear a camisole if changing costumes because the changing area is a common space with other parents and children. 
  • We kindly ask that you do not change in the bathrooms and leave them available for dancers when they need to use them.
  • Individual and family member pictures only. No friend or group photos.  Sibling photos can be taken at the either dancer’s assigned time.
  • No food or drinks permitted inside Studio on picture day. Dancers should never eat or drink colored liquid in costume!
  • Arrive at scheduled class time, picture ready. In costume, hair and makeup done.
  • Late arrivals will be fit in when schedule allows or asked to return during make-up session.
  • Students should not miss class/demonstrating for picture day. Sign up for a make up block.

Registration Info:
  • Sign up in advance  CLICK HERE by March 30th.
  • Must be current dancer in Recital 2026.
  • Changing area is a common area. Dancers must wear a camisole if they are changing at the Studio. Bathrooms not available for changing.
  • If you sign up you are expected to attend. We design the schedule on number of sign-ups per class. If you are unable to attend, email to schedule during a make-up block at any location, if space still available. 
  • Your phone number and email will be shared with Donner Photography when you sign up so they can set up an account.

Arrival

  • Arrive at your class time block, picture ready! Arrive in costume, hair and makeup done at home.
  • Hair and makeup however you want. These pictures are for you! (We do suggest stage makeup and hair pulled back from face neatly as it presents nicely in photos.)
  • See  Dress Code for specific dress code items (ie. Tights and shoes).
    • Ballet shoes do NOT have tie elastics
    • Black Tap shoes do NOT have velcro
    • NO underwear under tights (for picture day, class, performances)
    • Dancers must wear a camisole if changing at the Studio. Changing area is a common area. Bathrooms not available for changing.

What to Wear

Recreational Dancers
All dancers must wear a camisole if changing costumes at the Studio. Changing area is in a common space. Bathrooms not available for changing.
  • Toddler and Me:  Dancer - pink tights, pink ballet shoes. Adult - All black: top, full length pants, black shoes.
  • Preschool/Primary: pink tights, pink ballet shoes or black tap shoes
  • Level 1/2: pink tights and pink ballet shoes for ballet costume, tan transition tights with tan tap/jazz shoes
  • Level 3/4: tan transition tights, contemporary shoes, black tap/black jazz shoes, 12mm rhinestone earrings
  • Hip Hop: tan transition tights, all black sneakers
  • Hippity Hop Crew-black and white Nike style sneakers

Company Dancers 
All dancers must wear a camisole if changing costumes at the Studio. Changing area is in a common space. Bathrooms not available for changing.
  • Closed Class:  pink tights and pink ballet shoes for ballet costume, tan transition tights with tan tap/jazz shoes, 10mm double ring rhinestone earrings
  • Preparatory:  pink tights and pink ballet shoes for ballet costume, tan transition tights, tan tap/jazz shoes, 10mm double ring rhinestone earrings
  • Pee Wee:  tan stirrup tights for contemporary, tan transition tights with tan tap/jazz shoes, 10mm double ring rhinestone earrings 
  • Rhythmette: tan stirrup tights for contemporary, contemporary shoes, tan transition tights for tap & jazz, black & tan tap shoes, black jazz shoes, 12mm double ring rhinestone earrings
  • Junior/Senior: tan stirrup tights for contemporary, contemporary shoes, tan transition tights for jazz & tap, black tap shoes, black jazz shoes, tan jazz shoes, tan tap shoes, 12mm double ring rhinestone earrings

Picture Order Days

You can only place in-person orders at the same location you took pictures at. Come anytime within the time block. 
Orders can be placed online after your order date, but cost more.
  • Warwick Studio -  Friday, June 5, 2026 4:00pm-8:00pm
  • Smithfield Studio - Friday June 5, 2026 4:00-8:00pm
  • Cranston Studio -  Saturday, June 6, 2026 10:00am-2:00pm
