CELEBRATING 53 YEARS OF DANCE!
For more than five decades, Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio has been educating, inspiring and sharing the joy of dance with generations of Southern New England families. Founded by former Radio City Music Hall Rockette Carolyn Dutra, CDDS combines tradition with an edge while creating a place where dancers can learn, grow, perform and feel like they belong.
At CDDS, we believe the lessons learned in the dance studio go far beyond dance. Our students build confidence, responsibility, teamwork and resilience while learning the importance of kindness, respect and inclusion. We are proud to be an inclusive studio where ALL CHILDREN are welcome.
We are a performance-based, non-competitive dance school with a strong connection to our community. Our dancers perform throughout the year at community events, along with our own Winter Holiday performances and annual June Recitals.
The majority of our students participate in our recreational program, while our Company Program is available for dancers ready for an increased commitment to their dance education, training and performance opportunities. We believe every dancer's journey is different, and there is a place at CDDS for dancers with all different goals.

Company
Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio Company Dancers are a group of young students ages 7-18 who show promise and enthusiasm for dance. Company Dancers demonstrate an extra commitment to dance and involvement in CDDS. They study 6-10 hours per week plus rehearsals and performances. These students train under Miss Carolyn and her advanced staff, as well as master teachers from around the world. Annual Company auditions take place in the Summer.
