DFA/CDDS Awards Banquet

Sunday, February 9, 2024 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, Cranston RI

10am - Recreational Dancers  Approximately 75 minutes (Toddler & Me, Preschool, Primary, Level 1-5)
12pm - Company Dancers and Siblings Approximately 90 minutes (Mandatory for Company to attend)

*Students in the Grand March arrive 30 minutes before  banquet. Doors open for all  guests 15 minutes before each banquet.

New this year: ONE  order form for each banquet includes: ticket order, award list & grand march sign up!

The CDDS/DFA Banquet is a time to celebrate our DANCERS! Dancers with CDDS for 5+ years are recognized for their significant commitment to dance. 
  • 5+ years dancing at CDDS receives a medallion
  • 10+ years dancing at CDDS receives a medallion and trophy
  • Special Awards and scholarships given 
  • Induction into the Banana Split Club, National Honors Society, Top Fans of CDDS and more! (All dancers who attend, regardless of years at CDDS, are eligible for Special Awards.)
  • Student Showcase - Dancers perform their own self-choreographed group routines.

  • Photos/video welcome
  • There is no food at this event
  • No helium balloons permitted in venue.

National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) 
  • Induction takes place at both banquets. 
    • Recreational dancers  inducted at 10am, Company dancers inducted at 12pm. 
  • All Honors dancers attend both banquets and perform the routine in both. 
  • Company dancers do not need to purchase tickets to attend the 10am banquet.
  • Recreational dancers do not need to purchase tickets to attend the 12pm banquet and may leave after performing.

$12/ticket
  • Recreational dancers and all attendees need to purchase a ticket. 
  • Company dancers do NOT need to order a ticket. They already paid for it in Company DFA Dues. (Do not include them in your order.)
  • Children 1 & under do not need a ticket, will sit on a lap. (Do not include them in your order.)
  • Credit card on file will be charged by 1/13. No additional processing fees.
  • Email receipt will be sent upon processing. Show email receipt at door as ticket.
  • Open Seating
  • No refunds
  • Tickets available until sold out - order asap!

Awards

Dancers who have been at CDDS for 5+ years are acknowledged for their dedication and commitment to dance with medallions and trophies.
Awards are given at the Banquet. If absent, will be given in class.

Grand March

Dancers in Hip Hop 7-11, Level 1-5 , regardless of years dancing at CDDS , are invited to perform in the Grand March routine at their Banquet. 
  • All dancers learn the routine in class.
  • Arrive on banquet day, 30 minutes before your banquet, ready to dance in your red CDDS shirt, black leggings, black socks and black shoes!
  • Recreational & Honors Society Rehearsal Saturday February 1 3:15-4:15pm Smithfield Studio

Student Showcase

All dancers Primary and up who have been at CDDS for 5 years or more are invited to audition a group student choreographed routine! Here is your chance to get together with your dance friends and show us your creative side. We want to see what inspires YOU in dance! Students should get together in small groups on their own time and explore the choreographic and team work processes. Have fun with it!
