Company Nutcracker How To:
- Saturday, December 17, 2022
- Tech Rehearsal 10:00-2:00pm-See individual arrival/stage times below.
- Parents not allowed in Tech Rehearsal. Bring Dancer to Check In and get Parent Wristband (Closed, Prep, PW) Arrive in costume, makeup, hair. Dancer will not leave after their tech. Pack healthy snacks/lunch/ and water.
- Arrive 15 minutes before stage time. A staff member will meet you in the lobby and escort you back when the entire group is there. Do NOT be late.
- Be ready in the wings at the following times:
- 10:00 Sugar Plum Fairy, Soldier Doll, Ballerina Doll, Spanish
- 10:30 Sugar Plum Attendants, Chinese, Mirlitons
- 11:00 Trepek, Candy Canes, Waltz
- 11:30 Finale (Pee Wee, Rhythmette, Junior, Senior)
- 12:00 Party Scene, Dolls (Harlequin, Soldier, Ballerina), Mice and Soldiers, Snow
- 1:00 Arabian Soloist and Corps (Closed Class)
- 1:00 Call Backs for other routines to be run again
- 1:30-2:00 Warmup for Rhythmette, Junior, Senior
- Wear all black leotard, pink tights, all black high waisted leggings.
- Demonstrators report to Lobby at 2pm to assist bringing dancers to dressing room. Wear Warmup Jacket.
- Pick up dancer after Show 1. We will dismiss all recreational dancers first. So sit tight in the audience. We will dismiss Company Dancers into Audience. If you are not attending this show, you may enter the auditorium to pick up your dancer

- Sunday, December 18, 2022
- Shows 12:00pm and 2:30pm
- Rhythmette, Junior, Senior arrive 10:15am and report to dressing room. Warmup 10:30-11:15am.
- Wear all black leotard, pink tights, all black high waisted leggings.
- Demonstrators report to lobby at 11:30am and 2:00pm to help bring little dancers backstage. Wear Warmup Jacket.
- Closed, Prep, PW arrive 11:30am. Bring dancer to Check In and get Parent Wristband. Arrive in costume, makeup, hair.
- Show 2: Dancers must stay backstage after Show 2. Pack healthy snacks/lunch and drinks. If family is coming to see a dancer Show 2, email juliette.cdds@gmail.com by Tuesday, 12/14. We will arrange to have dancer come out into audience to see family. Dancer will not enter lobby.
- Show 3: All costumes will be collected. Dancers will put costumes on the hanger and in the exact garment bag they received the costume in. Dancers will then be dismissed through the auditorium. If you are not attending this show, you may enter the auditorium to pick up your dancer.
- What dancers need:
- Costumes/Accessories
- Hair: Closed Class: slicked back high bun. Prep/PW/Rhy/Jr/Sr: Slicked back, center part, low bun. Everyone bring your own hairspray for touch ups.
- Stage Makeup: foundation, blush, brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner, black mascara, highlight on cheekbones. Everyone bring your own makeup and lipstick to touch up. Stage makeup is exaggerated so features are seen on stage!
- PW/Rhy/Jr/Sr False Eyelashes.
- Red lipstick = MAC-Red or Russian Red. Sephora brand cream liquid lipstick-Always Red
- All dancers wear pink tights (pack an extra)
- Pink ballet shoes (check dress code for which pair you should have)
- Trepek-Black Jazz Shoes
- Pointe shoes (if needed for routine)
- Camisole
- Rhinestone earrings (Closed, Prep, PW-10mm, Rhy, Jr, Sr-12mm)
- Alligator clips
- Safety pins
- Kleenex/wipes
- Healthy Snacks/Lunch/Water-nothing that would stain a costume. Never eat in a costume
- Small pillow, blanket to rest in between shows
- No rack and rolls
- Notes:
- Pee Wee, Rhythmette, Junior and Senior Company may leave their costumes at McVinney overnight if they like. The building will be locked overnight.
- Please pack in an organized fashion. Do not bring multiple bags. Label everything. Your dancer should be independent!
- Bring warmup jackets and high waisted black pants for Saturday and Sunday to wear when you leave. Do not leave in your costume on Saturday. Put back in a garment bag. We are collecting all costumes Sunday.
- If your dancer will stay to see family after Show 2, please notify them. After the curtain closes, they should remain on stage. After some of the auditorium clears out, they will come out into the audience. When they are done visiting, they should go back through the stage to their dressing room!
