Spirit Of Dance Awards May 20-22, 2022
Rhode Island Convention Center, 1 Sabin Street, Providence RI.
  • Doors will open one hour prior to the start of competition each day. There are no mask mandates at this time.
  • CDDS will wear masks when in the Convention Center but may remove when in our own area together.
Schedule:
  • Schedule subject to change even day-of.
  • Dancers do not leave once arrive for the day. Students all stay together with CDDS staff monitors. 
  • Parents do not stay with students but are welcome and encouraged to watch their performances! It is also available via livestream - see bottom of page.
We are Studio Code "A". All entries are Competitive level.

Saturday, May 21
  • 5pm All Saturday performing dancers arrive, meet Miss Kaitlyn and Miss Juliette inside - a text will go out with specific location. 
    • Arrive ready wearing tan tights, camisole, black jazz pants and warmup jacket on. Full makeup and hair done minus lipstick. No one should be getting ready there.
  • 5:30-6:30pm Warmup w/ Miss Kaitlyn
  • 6:30pm Costume on, final touches. (Islands keep black jazzpants and warmup jacket on until 
  • We are dismissed after the 9:45pm Adjudicated Awards/Overall Awards are complete.
  • Everyone stay warm and always be stretching. Icon will have another warmup before performing.

What to Wear/pack:
Arrive ready for first routine with black jazz pants and warmup jacket on over tan tights and camisole (no costume or red lipstick on yet). Costumes in garment bag, small dance bag with healthy snacks and water inside. No rack and rolls needed.
  • No nail polish on fingers or toes besides French manicure or nude. (No one should be removing nail polish at the competition.)
  • Rhinestone earrings
  • Clean shoes, no rips - contemporary, black jazz
  • New tan stirrup tights (bring an extra)
  • Longsleeve company black leotard and black leggings (as backup incase any costume issues)
  • Skin tone Bloch mask incase needed.
  • Face masks not required but welcome.
  • Healthy, energizing snacks and water that fits inside your dance bag.
Hair: 
  • Thea Solo, Underwater, Moulin Rouge- Slicked back, high, straight, ponytail
  • Wish You Well, Islands, Icon, Mary Solo, Brooke Solo -Slicked center part, low bun
Makeup: Rockette red lipstick, foundation, highlighter, false eyelashes(bring extra), blush brown eyeshadow, black/brown eyeliner, blush

Live Stream/Photo/Video: 
  • Parents will also be able to access the Live Streaming with the All Access Pass.  
  • Purchases are not necessary to view the live stream. 
  • You may also access the live stream directly from the SDA website, on the "competition dates/locations" page, under the specific event that you are attending.
