Gaspee Days Parade

• If a parent is not meeting their dancer at the end of parade please email info@CarolynDutraDanceStudio with who your dancer is leaving with by June 5.

  • Email Subject: [Dancer Name] Parade Pickup

• Family/friends cannot join/follow us along the route. It is prohibited per the parade committee. We suggest finding a spot near the end of the route so that you can easily pick up your dancer when we finish.
• Jr/Sr driving themselves - Arrange carpooling and leaving a car at the end to drive others back to planet fitness. Staff will carry car keys and $ for Crepe Corner for you - put in ziplock bag, not a whole wallet.
• The end time is approximately 1pm. That is when we finished last year. The parade route is 2.5 miles and the speed and length varies. 
• CDDS Google Line 401-288-1232 (only available during event)
• Parents call/text CDDS Google Line if you need to reach your dancer at the end of the parade. Dancer’s will not have their cellphones with them. This line is only active during the parade.
• Dancers leave cell phones and all belongings with parents. Only dancers who are driving themselves should keep their keys and wallet with them and a staff member will carry them.
• This is a rain or shine event. We will not attend if heavy rain is predicted and the decision will be made by 7pm the night before.

• Rhy/Jr/Sr: Dancin' In The Street costume -ALL hair space buns, skirt, leotard, vest, hair accessory, tan tights, white parade socks and sneakers. (tie of  headbands align with center part. 
• Pee Wee: Red CDDS shirt tucked into white skater skort, white parade socks and sneakers, Hair: space buns, red scrunchies (provided by studio)
• Sign Holders- Evelyn Marote, Cecilia Ray, Blake Regan, Gabriela Guzman: Red CDDS Shirt and leggings, white parade socks and sneakers, Hair: space buns, red scrunchies (provided by studio)

• Camisole. Wear supportive bra as needed, not visible.
• Company performance Rhinestone  earrings
• Makeup/Hair:

  • Required lipstick: MAC-Red, MAC-Russian Red, or Sephora cream liquid lipstick-Always Red 
  • See hair specified above. Use Got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Hairspray or Got2B Glued Styling Spiking Hair Gel
• NO colored nail polish or other jewelry.
• Apply high spf sunscreen upon arrival - put on hair part!
• Do not bring any personal belongings with you - no cell phones. Staff have water, sunscreen and first aid.
  
  

Arrival - 9am Parking Lot behind Planet Fitness, 1222 Warwick Ave

• Meet behind Planet Fitness at 9am in full costume and staff walk dancers to lineup shortly after. Do not be late!

• Dancers will be led to the parade lineup as a group with staff shortly after 9am. Look for CDDS group.

• Arrange carpooling and leaving some cars at the end of the parade route (side streets around Broad St/Ocean Ave towards Poco Loco area) to drive others back to Planet Fitness lot.

• Apply high spf sunscreen upon arrival. (Don't forget your hair part line!)

• If you are late, parent must walk dancer to our spot in the lineup on Pawtuxet Ave. (Division # - 08, Pole # - 65B)

Pickup - End of Parade Route

• Parents please arrange your dancer’s pickup from the end of the parade route in Pawtuxet Village by 1pm. (The end time is approximate. Last year we ended at 1pm.)

• Stop by the DFA Fundraiser at Crepe Corner 8am-3pm. Mention CDDS/DFA fundraiser for 10% to go to DFA!

• Staff will remain with dancers until they are all picked up.
  

Parking

• Parade Ends on Broad Street around Kneeland St just after Crepe Corner.

• We suggest parking cars near end of the parade route (Ocean Ave towards Norwood Ave) in the AM and carpool groups to Plant Fitness lot for an easy exit, after you visit Crepe Corner :)

• There is no parking at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet. 
• At the end of the parade, there are shuttles from Rhodes that can take you to Pilgrim High School (a short walk from Planet Fitness lot). Staff are not taking students on the shuttle. Pickup is end of Parade route.
