CONFIRM YOUR SHOW

STEP 1:  GET READY AT HOME
Put on makeup, tights, camisole, Ballet shoes on inside slides (or tap shoes in hand), hair done. Remove all jewelry and nail polish. See What to Wear info. Make sure you have the approved dress code items and your name is written in shirt/leggings.shoes.

• All dancers arrive wearing CDDS Red Shirt
• All female dancers wear camisole. 
• Level 1-5 wear black leggings, too. 
• Level 2 wear long sleeve Capezio black leotard. 
• Level 3,4,5 & Hippity Hop Crew wear rhinestone performance earrings.

Stage makeup for female dancers:
Dancers need stage makeup to prevent their features being washed out by the bright lights on stage:  Black mascara, black eye liner, brown eyeshadow, rosy pink blush, bright red lipstick. Hair in low bun center part.

Stage makeup/hair for male dancers:
Hair neat away from face.  Makeup to emphasize facial features on stage is encouraged. A little eye makeup, blush and lip color to make features pop or whatever he is comfortable with!

Items Not Allowed: Do not bring anything - no dance bags, snacks, water bottles, toys etc. Shows are short!  We have water. If dancers arrive with these items a CDDS staff member will remove them.  CDDS and East Providence High School are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

• Underwear: Tights are considered an undergarment, underwear should not be worn.
• Jewelry: Remove earrings before arrival to avoid dancers getting upset. Based on our experience, this is key.  If earrings cannot be removed, cover them with a piece of band aid before arrival. 
• Nailpolish, Temporary Tattoos, Colored Hair Dye & Beads
• Shiny Tights or Pantyhose: Dancers must wear Capezio dance tights listed in dress code.

STEP 2: ARRIVE AT EAST PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL
Allow time for traffic, parking, bathroom, check-in, etc. so you are not late!

• Dancers arrive 30 minutes before show time dressed as noted in your class instructions.
• Bring dancers to the bathroom before check-in.
• One parent bring dancer to CDDS Check-In Table.
• One parent receives a wristband, which is required to pick up the dancer after the show.
• Parent keeps all personal belongings. Dancers do not bring anything backstage.
• After check-in, parents enter the auditorium. 
• CDDS team escort dancers backstage where DFA costumes are provided. CDDS team assist dancers with costume changes - dancers are always clothed in tights and camisoles.

STEP 3: PARENTS ENJOY THE SHOW!

• Photo and video recording are strictly prohibited.
• Please remain seated for the entire performance.
• Enjoy watching your dancer and their classmates shine on stage!

STEP 4: AFTER THE SHOW

• Remain in your seats until the curtain closes after the Parade of Dancers to see your dancer one more time!
• After the curtain closes, only the parent wearing the wristband may pick up their dancer backstage.
• All other audience members should exit the auditorium.
• Please be patient during dismissal to ensure a safe and orderly exit for all dancers and families.

Dance for Art costume provided backstage. CDDS staff and helpers change students.

CAMISOLE: All female dancers are required to wear a camisole of closest color to their skin tone at performances under their costume A camisole is a skin tone leotard that is worn over tights and under a costume as an undergarment. Clear straps are worn as an X at the back. Approved clear strap camisoles:

• Adult Sizes - Eurotard #44821z or MARIIA XMTB212

What NOT to wear: Underwear, earrings/jewelry, nailpolish, temp tattoos, non-approved dress code items.

Primary- Into The Unknown (Ballet) With Bells On (Ballet)

Level 1-Rockin Around The Christmas (Tap)

• Arrive wearing CDDS Red Shirt and black leggings. Write name on tags.

• Hair: Slick middle part, low bun

Level 1- Once Upon A December (Ballet)

• Arrive wearing CDDS Red Shirt and black leggings. Write name on tags.

To ensure the best possible experience for your dancer and your family, please read through, share and uphold the following CDDS theater etiquette.  
Please remember that everyone on stage is someone’s child and their family and friends are excited to see them perform.  

1. Arrive early- Our shows start on time.  Late arrivals will not be allowed into the audience until the ushers determine an appropriate time. Late arrivals will be seated in the back, not at their seat. Allow time for traffic, inclement weather, parking, bathroom, finding your seat, etc. Entire party must enter together.
2.  Only leave your seat if completely necessary. No intermission. Shows are short, approx. 75 minutes.
3.  Keep cell phones/devices and cameras away during the entire performance. We recommend purchasing the professional video. Embrace the moment and enjoy the live performance. Any cell phones or other recording devices are distracting to the audience and performers. Avoid the disruption of ushers asking to put cell phones away by keeping them away during the show.
