Class Descriptions (Not all currently offered.)

Kids Yoga, Ages 3-4
This fun and imaginative class combines simple yoga poses with engaging songs, puppets, stories and activities that exercise social, sensory and motor skills while increasing flexibility.  Class is 45 minutes.

Kids Yoga, Ages 5-6
This energy-releasing class encourages self-expression, body awareness and focus through Yoga practice and play.  Young Yogis will have fun as they build strong and healthy bodies, social, sensory and motor skills. Class is 45 minutes.

Kids Yoga, Ages 7-11
Improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Developing Yogis will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and energy releasing techniques. This class encourages self-expression as well as building social skills. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy.

Teen Yoga, Ages 12-17
Using yoga postures to build inner and outer strength and flexibility, coordination, and finding calm are the main focus of this class. Experience emotional balance through the physical and mental benefits of yoga by practicing breathing exercises, flowing sequences, balancing poses and deep relaxation while building a healthy relationship with your body. Class is 1 hour.

Yoga for Dancers, Ages 11-17
Yoga connects the mind and body and can teach dancers how to listen to and respect their bodies and physical needs.  In this class, students move through sequences of Yoga postures designed specifically for dancers. Classes focus on gaining strength, flexibility, coordination and balance, breath control, calming the mind and positive body awareness.
Growing up as a dancer and continuing my passion for movement through Yoga as an adult, I am excited to share lessons of the benefits of Yoga for dancers!  Yoga connects the mind and body and can teach dancers how to listen to and respect their bodies and physical needs. Some benefits of Yoga for dancers:
  • Increase positive body awareness and boost confidence
  • Gain strength, flexibility and balance
  • Coping with performance anxiety and stress
  • Breath control, linking breath to movement
  • Health benefits, improve circulation, coordination, reaction time, memory, healthier heart and lungs
  • Calm the mind, encourages relaxation, slow breath and focus on the present moment
Morning Yoga Burst (For Adults)
This 45-minute class moves at an uplifting pace to start the week with a happy and feel-good mind and body. Breathe, stretch, and move with more awareness and ease. Focus is on enhancing endurance, balance, strength and flexibility, while flowing from pose to pose.

Yoga for Women
This class is a safe and comfortable space for women of all ages to move and breath in their bodies.  Class flows at a calm to uplifting pace through standing and floor sequences and gentle restorative poses. Build stability, strength, focus and relaxation through a practice of slowing down and being present by using steady breath, holding foundational postures and mindful movement.  This is a great class for beginners and is accessible to students of all levels.  Class offers various modifications and use of props. The room is comfortably warm.

Young Yogis Helpful Hints
  • What to Wear: Capri or full-length athletic leggings/pants, full length athletic top, bare foot, hair pulled back.
  • Remove shoes before entering the Yoga room.
  • Take your Yogi to the restroom before class.
  • Water bottles should not enter the Yoga room.
  • Teachers will bring students into class.
  • If you are late to class, please check in at the office and a staff member will bring student in.
